Welcome! Our teams both in the US and Abroad have come together to offer safe, meaningful and affordable well-organized projects for our volunteers and the communities in which we serve. We understand the commitment of time and cost it takes to volunteer in an international project and appreciate your commitment. Do not hesitate to ask questions!

In our international Volunteer projects, volunteers typically begin at the project on Monday. Volunteers work Monday to Friday with weekends free. We prefer volunteers arrive on Sunday prior to your start date but are open and flexible, if you would like to arrive earlier we’ll be happy to work with you on arrangements LET US KNOW! We want to hear from you.

How Long Can I Volunteer?

Volunteers with Cultural Connections and Volunteers can choose to volunteer for 1-12 weeks. Regardless of the time you’re able to commit to this volunteer experience, we have a project that needs you! If you’d like to volunteer for longer than 12 weeks or just have a few days at the end of a vacation, safari, or work trip for example, contact us and we’ll help determine a suitable project for you. Our dates are flexible, we will work with you on the dates you are available to volunteer short term or long term.

What are the Start Dates?

Start dates can be somewhat flexible if you’re unable to join a program on the standard Monday start date – let us know if you need to make different arrangements.

When do I need to start planning? It’s best to start the planning process at least a few months before your intended start date. If you have less time, that’s ok! We can help expedite the process for you.

Fees and Registration:

All applications require a non-refundable $350.00 participation fee in addition to the program fees listed below. You’re required to submit the participation fee with your completed application. Program fees are due 60 days before your program start date. All fees are listed in USD.

What do my fees cover?

Your program fee covers in-country costs including airport pick-up and orientation, your accommodations and meals during the volunteer program period, 24/7 volunteer support and assistance, project supplies and donations, and all in-country administration expenses. Your registration fee helps cover program marketing and informational materials, office overhead expenses, and the costs of CCandV staff and ground suport, including travel to inspect programs.

What do my fees not cover?

Not included in your fees are your flights, vaccinations please refer to the center for disease control, visa (if required by destination country), travel insurance (required), criminal background check (required), and personal expenses while traveling.

How much extra money will I need?

Volunteers can generally get by with $25.00 to $50.00 a week or even less for the well budgeted volunteer; Some cost you might consider are weekend excursions, souvenirs , meals , snacks or beverages you purchase on your own local transportation and a local phone or SIM card. For additional information in specific to your chosen location we will be happy to talk with you more.

Program Fees:

Program fees may differ based on the country and number of weeks you volunteer and any special request you might have during your stay. Our fees are subject to change slightly based on many factors please contact us about your intentions and we can give you a quote. We strive to offer you affordable fees without compromising the project or our valued Volunteers and will work with you to organize an affordbale and meaningful trip. Group fees will be cutomized by group needs, goals and request.

In some circumstances, travel and other expenses you necessarily incur directly because of your volunteer efforts can be tax deductible.
